Welcome to Bullengarook Adult Riding Club
Bullengarook ARC is arguably one of the most successful HRCAV clubs around the state. With a membership of over 50 riders, we are located just out of Gisborne, at the Bullengarook Recreation Reserve, Bacchus Marsh Road, Bullengarook, Victoria. (60 kilometres north west of Melbourne.) Over the past 5 years we have seen a growth within our club which has enabled us to run our own events and to raise much needed funds that we use to improve our club’s equipment & facilities located at the Bullengarook Recreation Reserve, which we share with the Bullengarook Pony Club and also with many outside users. The equestrian facilities are maintained by the Equestrian user groups for the benefit of the whole equestrian community. Just recently, with a joint project between the Bullengarook Recreation Reserve & the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, the ARC & PC installed a large sand arena.
Our club is a member of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) which has a club membership of around 170 clubs and 4400 members, including members in southern New South Wales. The HRCAV hold annual Top Teams Trophy (TTT) Events (equivalent to State Championships) in each discipline of Showing, Dressage, Show Jumping, Horse Trials, Combined Training and Navigation Rides. Clubs compete in teams of four. TTT events are prestigious within the HRCAV with the Horse Trials being one of the largest.
We hold our rallies normally on the second Saturday of the month (but they are actually on the Saturday of the second weekend so occasionally are on the 1st Saturday - just to confuse everyone). Rallies consist of flat & jumping lessons - mainly showjumping, but we do make use of our lovely cross country course every now and then. One of the main feature of our rally days are our legendary lunches, each month seems to be better than the last, with chicken & fizz and everything in between. All riders bring something to share, either salad, anti pasto, meat, quiche, home made soups, and of course a bottle of bubbles. We never go hungry and we make sure to fortify ourselves before the afternoon jumping sessions!
Members come from near and far, with many local Rookies coming out to enjoy themselves along with some who travel 100km just to be part of our great family.
